myth for bloodroot

Are all clouds full of tunnels, or was it just this one, the one that Ivy was crawling through? Ivy had learned everything he knew from Rebecca, but this, even she, who he believed, knew everything, did not know about. The bottom was soft and cool to the touch.

Ivy crawled alone, so long, he wondered if he should turn back. He wondered if he was dreaming. His entire life circling through a cloud tunnel. When all at once it wasn't, the cloud opened into a place that was ever darker than where he had come. As he had been moving, the dark had slowly descended around him, and the young man realized he was in near pitch darkness. When all at once, it began to move, as if woken up, a continuous movement of shadow.

He at once saw the edge of it, though, as he crawled along feeling the sides that opened out, and a light appeared from above. And from the light, a woman descended. She had no hands.

She wore a dress that looked like cream. It kept falling and flowing and whirling around her. She went into the shadows and emerged with fatty plates.

The shadow, it turned out, was a massive serpent whose face leveled to hers. Ivy only realized she had no hands when she held the food out to the creatures' rounded nose, a serpent who eats plants.

She had such a look upon her as she moved, as she picked the large, solid leaf up. It only took a moment's view before a wave of red rushed in front of Ivy and tackled him.
"Sssshhhhhhh” was all he heard before he was pulled deeper into the shadows.

A labyrinth, he and his kidnapper went through, whose grip held strong upon his arm until they came upon another place, a place on a mountain. And before him stood a red knight, and a red castle behind him that shone like a setting sun. The home of the queen with the pink crown, the one who brought light when the world was dark.

A pale and strong one. And ivy approached the castle. He had no choice with the knight beside him. The man, having run for so long, was tremendously out of breath, heaving, ivy longed to be back, back where the woman was feeding the serpent.
